May 1: Πάμε στα νησιά! Let’s go to the islands: an evening of music and dance

Πάμε στα νησιά — Let’s go to the islands — is an exploration of nisiotika, the popular music that springs from Greece’s Aegean islands and that has been an important part of the repertoire of Greek entertainers since the early days of the last century. Laura Blumenthal (santouri, percussion and vocals), Dayna Groumoutis (vocals), Kostas Kolokatsis (vocals), special guest Jonathan Lewis (violin) and Mark Hamilton (guitar) will take a musical voyage from Lesbos to Kasos. Come listen, sing and maybe even dance.

We’ll be gathering at 7:30pm at 4500 Arbutus Street in the Upper Hall. Light refreshments should be available as well. We hope to see you there!
